Simon is an inventive and disciplined optronics consultant with close to fifteen years of optical engineering experience across both large corporations and small companies. His work spans classical optical design — camera lenses, illumination, imaging — through to advanced, novel measurement systems.
He has a strong background in modelling optical and complex systems, pairing commercial raytracing software with Python to extend standard tools into custom analysis and end-to-end simulation. Having worked across many industries and interdisciplinary teams, he is as comfortable defining a system from first principles as he is communicating trade-offs to stakeholders from different technical backgrounds.
